Welcome back to Peter & Gerda from Amsterdam
Peter is an old friend he has been diving with me since I taught him
some 3 years ago. Gerda learned to dive with me last year and is a
natural.
This year they brought a couple of friends with them Nicole & Marcel
along with their young children so it was not easy to get much diving
in but we did manage a few, Nicole & Marcel had never tried scuba
before but where keen to have a go.
I spent the day with them at the pool where we spent some time just
playing with the scuba gear which both Nicole & Marcel enjoyed,
so much so that they wanted to try a dive in the sea with the Turtles
at El puertito

Welcome back to David Gwyther & Family From London
David has been coming to Tenerife for quite a few years
but 5 years ago he took his 1st dive here with me & has been
coming back every year since.
Last year I taught his son Hugh to scuba dive, this year they
were back again this time it was the turn of David's other son
James to take up the challenge to learn to scuba dive & as with
Hugh, James took to it like a fish to water.

We Welcomed two brothers Tony & Jamie French from Scotland neither had
tried Scuba Diving before but as you can see from the look on their faces they
enjoyed the experience.

WOW !!! what a great month so far We have done some fantastic diving with some great people.
Covered almost the whole Island of Tenerife from Tabiba in the North to Gigantes in the West, Wreck diving on El Ratton, Diving with Turtles at El Puertito and a Ray dive where we saw more species of stingray's in one spot than I have ever seen before Common Ray's, Atlantic Ray's, Electric Ray's Eagle Ray's Bull Ray's & Butterfly Ray's.

As if all that was not enough to satisfy most divers on holiday we finished the week with the best dive of all scuba diving with a pod of seven Dolphin's. That really made the week for my dive companions & me Take a look at the Video.

So a big thank you goes out to my companions Bart, Peter, Volva, Gerda, Petya & Dimetri
And finally well done Gerda on completing her Open Water Course.

September Has been busy

Congratulations to Alison & Jason for completing their Open Water Course
earlier this month, Alison managed this despite twisting her ankle on the first
day but after a couple of days rest she said that she wanted to continue with
the course.

We found out later after she had flown home that she had actually torn some
ligaments in her ankle, so well done to her for persevering through the pain.

Also Congrats goes to Edwin for completing his Open Water & Advanced courses
What A busy week he had not only was he doing two diving courses but he was
also doing a Spanish course in the evenings.

After many months of searching for a Local in the Silencio area of Tenerife we have finally found one and it is now OPEN for business.

Our new center is situated on the complex of Chayofita Costa del Silencio just 5 minuets from Las Galletas harbor.

Courses Gallor

Well we have had a real mixed group in over the last couple of weeks, They have come from many parts of Europe including Russia, Holland & Scotland keeping me on my toes with a variety of courses going on at the same time.

So many congratulation to Jitka & Vova who completed the open water course with flying colors also my congratulations go to Colleen, David, Peter & Bart who completed the Rescue Diver Course
& well done David on becoming an Emergency First Responder with the EFR Course.

Another Openwater / Advanced diver

You know as a Scuba Instructor, when I do an open water course I expect a bit of a challenge but from time to time someone comes along that just defies belief Well I have just had just that last week I was sure that this guy must be a ringer because no matter what I through at him he just sailed right through with not even a glimmer or hint of a fault, for instance by dive 6 he was able to sustain a perfect cross leg hover holding his fins I have seen experienced instructors have trouble with that one.
Well Done Peter hope to see you back here in Tenerife soon keep up the good work.

New Rescue Diver

We have a new Rescue Diver his name is Harry-Pym Davis 16 years of age. Harry has been diving with me here in Tenerife for four years now since I taught him to scuba dive, Harry is a very busy boy besides scuba diving he is a keen scout he has just returned from a trip to Morocco where he and his troupe were hiking and climbing in the Atlas Mountains.
There seems to be no stopping him because while he was here, I thought that he would just like to do some relaxing diving after all the exertions of the Atlas Mountains but oh no, not Harry besides the Rescue and EFR courses, he decided that he wanted to do more study and become a master scuba diver, so we got down to work on completing five specialities in ten days. Well done Harry, He says his next goal is to be a Divemaster, but he will have to wait a couple of years for that one.

Lemon Sharks spotted in Tenerife

Had a fantastic dive this morning here in Tenerife, I was helping out Chris & Sarah of Tenerife Scuba as Chris has been a little under the weather we only had one client today Steve Woods from Somerset so we decided to go & do one of the most spectacular dives here in Tenerife a dive site that I call White Moon. A site where I have often seen large Grouper, Atlantic ray's, Barracuda & every so often you see something special like large Madrigal or big Tuna & even Dolphins, but today was extra special.

The dive started well enough anyway with 4 medium size Grouper following us as we descended past 30mts to a wall of black coral at the bottom of the wall now in 45mts there is a swim through almost hidden by the black coral as we go through we can see on the other side a shoal of large Barracuda just circling below the black coral as we watch the barracuda I can see something big coming our way, at first I thought that it might be a couple of madrigal which we quite often see in this area but to my surprise it turned out to be 2 Lemon Sharks about 3 mts in length well you can imagine our surprise we looked at each other in complete amazement as we watched these magnificent creatures just circle the barracuda and the reef they circled two or three times at one point swimming right over our heads so close that if I had reached out my hand I could have touched them, then just as soon as they arrived they were off swimming of in to the distance.

After all that excitement we could have finished the dive there and then and been very happy about it but we still had plenty of time and air left so we continued the dive along the edge of the reef there was still plenty to see along the way with a couple of large Atlantic rays feeding on the bottom, as we started our ascent to our deco stop I could not help but wonder just where those two Lemon Sharks had gone, well we finished the dive at the top of the reef with a 12 minute deco stop at 6mts. But wow what a dive, I will remember this one for a long time.
